Tell us about your family! Where did you grow up?
My husband Aaron and I got married in May 2025. He’s an avid fan of the Reds and Bengals, an ophthalmologist, and enjoys going on mission trips to Honduras. We have a very spoiled hound mix named Ellie. I grew up in Louisville, KY, where my parents still live. My mom is a retired teacher, and she inspired me to teach orthodontics part time for the University. My brother and his wife live in Florida and have a sweet little girl named Remy.
When did you know you wanted to be an orthodontist? What inspired your interest in this field?
I shadowed my childhood orthodontist as a college student and his passion for the field inspired me. He later became my teacher during residency, and we stay in touch to this day.
What is your favorite way to spend a weekend?
My ideal Saturday morning is sleeping in, playing tennis or working out, making waffles for breakfast and then walking to a coffee shop with my husband, Aaron, and our pup, Ellie!
Who inspires you?
My grandmother is one person who really inspired me. She moved to the US at age 16 to go to college. She loved to learn and travel, two things I also really enjoy!
What do you love most about being an Orthodontist?
I love getting to know my patients and their families! I also enjoy problem-solving through challenging treatment plans and helping my patients achieve a beautiful smile!
What kind of music do you like? Do you have a favorite artist?
I enjoy lots of different music but lately I’ve been listening to chill music like Wild Rivers.
If you weren’t an orthodontist, what would you be?
I would probably be a vet. I love animals!
What’s your favorite holiday?
The 4th of July is my favorite holiday because I look forward to the fireworks, grilling out, swimming, and doing all the summer activities! As a kid, I grew up going to Lake Barkley for the 4th of July and have many fond memories.
Are you an introvert or an extrovert?
I’m a mix of both. I enjoy being around people and socializing and also like having quiet time to read or paint.
What do you love most about living in Kentucky?
I love that the people are friendly, we have all 4 seasons, and there are many beautiful outdoor areas to explore.
What three items would you take with you to a deserted island and why?
My Kindle (stocked with lots of books!), my bathing suit, and a coffee maker so I can stay entertained and caffeinated!
Name three random things or fun facts your patients do not know about you!
- I take oil painting classes for fun during my free time.
- I played tennis growing up and still enjoy it. We try to go to the Western Southern Open tournament every year to watch!
- My husband and I like to travel and go on adventures! Some of our favorite places have been the Sahara Desert in Morocco, an elephant sanctuary in Thailand (where we got engaged!), and the jungle in Borneo, Malaysia where we saw wild orangutans!
